Welcome! Situated in remote mountainous land five miles from the small town of Liberty, the Church of the Annunciation is at the heart of the life and work of Agape Community, which was established here in 1972. The church building was begun in 1979 (and, like many Orthodox church buildings, is likely to continue under construction indefinitely). The community and parish were received into the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia in 1980.  Unable in conscience to submit, along with most of our former hierarchs, to the Moscow Patriarchate in May 2007, we remain faithful to the traditional path of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, under the omophorion of His Grace Bishop Agafangel of Odessa. Visitors are always welcome, but are requested to make arrangements ahead of time by telephone or e-mail, due to our frequent absences for mission and press business travels. May the Lord bless you!
